What is Supported Employment?

Supported Employment is a customized employment service that connects individuals with developmental disabilities to meaningful jobs within the community. It includes ongoing support and job coaching to ensure successful integration and long-term success for both the employee and the employer.

What are the benefits to my business?

Employers gain reliable, motivated employees who often have above-average retention rates. Supported Employment also enhances workplace morale, promotes diversity and inclusion, and contributes positively to your business’s community image. Ongoing support from EO staff ensures smooth onboarding and continued success.

Will my business receive support after hiring someone through Supported Employment?

Yes. One of the core benefits of Supported Employment is ongoing job coaching and retention support. EO Supported Employment provides an employment specialist who offers on-site or remote assistance, helping both you and the employee navigate challenges and maintain high performance.

Does this cost my business anything?

There is no additional cost to the employer for the support services provided. Funding for job coaching and retention is typically covered through state programs such as the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) and Developmental Disabilities Community Services (DDCS). You simply provide a competitive wage and a welcoming work environment.

How long will job coaching support be provided?

Support is individualized and may range from a few weeks to long-term assistance, depending on the needs of the employee and employer. As the employee becomes more independent, support typically decreases, but EO remains available as a resource when needed.

How do I get started with EO Supported Employment?

Simply reach out to our team via our contact page or call us directly. We’ll schedule a consultation to learn about your business, identify potential job roles, and begin the process of matching you with a qualified, enthusiastic candidate.
