Our Values

Funding and Referral Pathways for Supported Employment Services

Employers Overload’s Supported Employment services are made possible through a variety of funding sources tailored to meet the individual needs of our customers. Our primary funding streams include:

  • Department of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR)

  • Developmental Disabilities Community Services (DDCS)

  • Private Pay options for individuals who do not qualify for or currently lack access to public funding.

Most individuals are referred to Employers Overload by either DVR or DDCS to begin or continue their journey toward meaningful employment and increased independence.

Department of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR)

DVR provides short-term funding to support individuals in establishing and achieving their employment-related goals. DVR services are designed to assist with identifying a customer’s strengths, skills, interests, and barriers to employment. Through collaboration with DVR, Employers Overload helps customers:

  • Define and explore vocational goals

  • Engage in Independent Living Skills Training

  • Access Transition Services

  • Complete Discovery and Employment Planning

  • Participate in Community-Based Assessments

  • Receive Job Development and Placement support

This phase focuses on empowering individuals with the tools and support needed to secure employment in a competitive, integrated setting.

Developmental Disabilities Community Services (DDCS)

DDCS provides long-term funding to sustain and enhance the progress made during the DVR phase. Once an individual is successfully placed into employment, DDCS services ensure continued support for:

  • Job Coaching and Retention Services

  • Ongoing skill development and workplace accommodations

  • Advocacy and support to maintain employment stability

  • Long-term employment planning and career growth

These services are essential in helping individuals retain their jobs, continue learning on the job, and address any workplace or personal challenges that may arise over time.

Private Pay Options

In some situations, individuals may not be eligible for public funding or may be waiting for approval. In these cases, private pay funding is available to ensure there is no delay in receiving necessary services. For individuals receiving Social Security benefits, support services may qualify as work-related expenses, which can be offset through specific financial planning options such as:

  • Plan for Achieving Self Support (PASS)

  • Impairment-Related Work Expenses (IRWE)

Employers Overload can connect individuals with a certified Benefits Planner to complete a Benefits Analysis, helping identify the best funding strategies and maintain financial stability while pursuing employment goals.
